Technical Program Manager, Hardware & Special Projects

Austin · Full time, primarily in person

← All roles

Stellios is building klystrons, gyrotrons, high voltage systems, HTS magnets, electron guns, and next generation energy hardware.

We are looking for a highly organized technical operator who can take complex, ambiguous engineering programs and turn them into clear requirements, executable plans, coordinated vendors, resolved blockers, and delivered hardware.

This is not a traditional PMO role. You will work directly with engineers, vendors, recruiters, and the CEO. You are expected to understand enough technical detail to ask good questions, identify dependencies, and recognize when something does not make sense.

The job is not to maintain Jira. The job is to make sure the hardware gets built.

What You Will Own

  • Program coordination for klystrons, gyrotrons, magnets, electron guns, and special projects
  • Requirements tracking and decision logs
  • Critical path schedules, dependencies, risks, and blockers
  • Vendor sourcing, RFQs, quotes, procurement coordination, and follow up
  • Machine shop and outside fabrication coordination
  • Equipment and component sourcing
  • Engineering meeting follow up and action tracking
  • Technical documentation and decision-ready updates for the CEO
  • Recruiting coordination for highly technical roles, including candidate sourcing and outreach where useful
  • Cross-functional coordination between engineering, operations, facilities, and outside specialists
  • Special projects that do not yet have a natural owner

How We Work

We are AI first. If a question can be answered or a first draft created with ChatGPT, Claude, or another AI system, do that first. Human time should go toward judgment, validation, vendor and candidate conversations, engineering coordination, resolving ambiguity, and making things happen in the real world.

We strongly dislike process for its own sake.

Who We Are Looking For

Strong candidates may come from technical or engineering program management, aerospace and defense operations, hardware startups, engineering roles with real organizational ability, or technical consulting and special-project work.

We care about:

  • Extreme attention to detail and excellent written communication
  • Technical curiosity and the ability to learn a technical domain quickly
  • High agency and strong follow through
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Vendor and procurement competence
  • The ability to work directly with engineers
  • Aggressive use of AI
  • Willingness to personally handle unglamorous tasks when required

An engineering degree or meaningful technical experience is strongly preferred.

This role requires access to U.S. export controlled information. Candidates must qualify as a U.S. person under applicable export control laws, including U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.

The role is primarily in person in Austin.

Competitive compensation and meaningful equity.
